Hi from France
Old 30-10-2007

Hi there!
My name is Pierre and I'm the owner and webmaster of zoo picture gallery : Galerie Photo Zoo
I also own a message board (all in french) reachable at Zoos Runners
I'm a 26 years old professionnal drummer and zoo photographer, living close to Paris, France.
I've visited so far more than 84 zoos and aquariums in 12 different countries around South-East Asia (Hong-Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia), North-America (Canada) and Europe (France, England, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic).
I can put online the entire list of my visited zoos if needed!
Thanks for reading me

I agree with you on the animals, and both bird parks look good, I haven't managed to get to them yet!!!

Hi Pedro

A bit late but welcome to the site, I have just spend over an hour browsing through your photo albums, really, really impressed about it and made me realize that I need to improve my photographing skills.

May I ask which camera you use?

Good luck with future zoo visits and also there I have a lot to catch up with.

Hi Sebbe!
Yes, working as a professionnal drummer (hard sometimes because of money but it's really my passion and I know I can achieve something by working hard!) Right now, I'm playing with a french musical about singer Josephine Baker (very famous in the 50s) which will keep me busy for a few months, + DVD shooting, writing a book in collaboration with a very famous drummer, and other projects!

Concerning the pictures and website... first of all thanks a lot for your kind words!
As you probably saw (especially in the European section), pictures are in two different sizes, the most recent one being slighly smaller.
Those have been taken with a Canon EOS 20D camera with a 70-300 F 4-5.6 lens.
I just sold that lens and will get a 70-200 F 2.8 instead (a little shorter but way better quality especially in lower light settings!).
The older pictures were taken with a Panasonic FZ20 camera.

Concerning my projects for zoo visiting...
Last weekend, I spent time with friends in western France and visited two aquariums (Aquarium de Saint Malo, Ocearium du Croisic), a reptile park (Alligator bay) and a zoo (La boissière du Doré).
I'm planning to go to Antwerp zoo soon to see some new species (such as wattled guan (Aburria aburri)) and of course to Vogelpark Walsrode for a whole week of photography with my new lens!
