Tiger Kingdom is a tourist attraction where you can enter an enclosure with a tiger, in most cases 3, play with them and take photos with them. There are four sizes of tiger at the park: Big: Fully grown adult tigers. Medium: Adolescent tigers. Small: Tigers that have just been weened but aren't yet adolescent. Smallest: Tigers that are still being bottle fed. The park claims that all their tigers are Indo-Chinese but I don't know the purity of these tigers or where they came from. The park is constantly under pressure to produce cub as they are what most people choose to go with and they are also the most expensive. Due to this the park is a bit over crowded. I counted 46 tigers in an area I would say is less than 5 acres. All the tiger spent most of their time in small holding areas where they're kept when not with guests. All the enclosures I would say are a bit small but probably adequate for one tiger but these held two or three tigers at a time. Although small, every enclosure was well planted and the holding areas were clean. These tigers are housed better than most big cats in Asia but it still needs HEAPS of improvements. There was also one tiger that was kept at the rear of the park where very few people go. This tiger was cross eyed and kept in a small holding area on it's own. This is probably as a result of genetics being overlooked in the rush to produce cubs. Over all it is a great experience where you can get up close and personal with an amazing animal but the housing is very poor. I would still recommend it as none of the animals appeared stressed or miss treated.
Tiger Kingdom in Phuket is a satellite zoo This collection is another purely exploitative commercial arm of Tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai It wants closing down along with all the other Tiger posing places in Asia...Thailand in particular.
