    First hatchling of 2016,a Tunesian spur-thighd tortoise :).

    Giant anteater born at Prague Zoo - a first for the zoo :).

    Now it makes sense why area around anteater house was sealed off last weekend.


    The zoo got also two new Aldabran giant tortoises, 10 years old imports from Mauritius.

    New addition is a pair of emperor geese. They live on the pond under lift, together with a family of Bewick's swans and red-breasted geese.

    Does anyone know if the new facility for Lear's Macaws in the Prague zoo will be ready in September? Thank you :)

    These are on top of the 2 mentioned by Jana previously?

    Pilsen Zoo had a group of 10 - most imported also from Mauritius ... (I think) -.

    No, Jana wrote about two turtles directly from Mauritius. Those three came from Pilsen Zoo.

    The pair of Javan Green Magpies which arrived from Chester in December have already had chicks!
    2 youngsters hatched in mid-March.
