Is the aquarium at Brno a separate facility, apart form the zoo itself? It is listed as such on Zootierliste, but I cannot find mention of a discrete facility on-line.
The aquarium is in the city centre. It's tiny though: worth a look if you're in the centre anyway, but not really worth a special effort.
As tiny as the Fort Victoria Marine Aquarium on the Isle of Wight? I've heard that that is worth a hefty detour......
I agree with robmv; it's really tiny, with several tanks suffering from the TMFITST (Too Many Fish In Too Small Tanks) syndrome.
A wonderful establishment, without which any trip to the Isle of Wight would be incomplete. I get the impression that the Brno aquarium may have closed. As you say, there is almost no information online and I'm sure there was a dedicated page on the zoo's website previously. I don't recall having any trouble finding the details when I visited.

Zoo Brno updated the section of their website called "future plans" it includes Lion house, new exhibit for chimpanzees (both already in construction) and now the sections also includes exhibits for: • musk-ox (Pižmoni) • arctic complex (Arktida + lanová dráha) • Himalaya complex (Himaláj) • Manatee pavillon (Kapustňáci) + new entrance with new parking space (300 cars + buses) (Nový vstup a parkoviště) No dates of either beggining or finishing these projects were set.
HOMIN96, I have a gut feeling that the new polar bear exhibit is next big project up for development after they finish the lion exhibit and chimp outdoor yards later this year. There has been of and off talk of restructuring and building new accommodation for the flourishing polar bear breeding group at Brno for the last few years.
@Kifaru Bwana It would be a logical choice, the thing is you never know, when it comes to Brno and the board decisions here. New enterance is probably at the same level of importance as the polar bear exhibit, maybe even higher. Nevertheless, the next couple of years in Brno could be interesting if the funds become available
