Is he related to Jock? It sounds weird but I think they look alike, very similar body shape.

He is actually Mambi. He was born at Twycross, father Mamfe (Jambo x N'pongo from Jersey) mother Biddy (wild-caught). Both of Jock's parents were wild-born so it is unlikely, but not impossible, that they are related.

No, he isn't. He is several generations from the jersey line, wheras Jock was born at la Palmyre, France. Mambi matured quite early into a fine silverback while he was living in Paignton's male group and was removed from their group as he wasn't compatable any more. He has always been quite a dominant animal, even when young. At La Boissiere he could be the 'boss' over several younger animals(males) which worked okay. Now he is with females at Valencia Bioparc so his situation has improved even more. Although handraised there's a photo on the Forum of him mating too so he may become a father in due course.
