The exhibit looks much better than expected and it was suggested on the Spanish zoo forum that it was planned to update the exhibit even further (with rock work et cetera …).

Thanks! What has happened to the Nilgai (and didn't they share with Blackbuck)?

The nilgai were moved to the moose and roe deer paddock (not sure but I think just one individual of both Species remains) I suppose that nilgai will not share the paddock with roe deer and moose, but the animals are being rotated on the same exhibit...

Why did this happen? Are all the species previously kept in the two exhibits now together?

Two weeks ago a new Asian elephant (female) named 'Jangoli' arrived to Madrid, and sadly yesterday 'Samy' the other EM female (mother of an 18 months baby) dies. Cause unknown yet.

The yaks live now with the camels. The yaks exhibit is being rebuild as an expansion for the asian elephants, even though there are only two elephants at the zoo nowadays..

Just enquiring about Jangloi the Asian elephant, how is she doing since she was packed off from Chester Zoo surplus to requirement?, how does she get on with her sole companion at Madrid, the orphan bull elephant calf?
