Elephant Temple

The Elephant Temple is open for the public to walkthrough. The building was split into two rooms, interconnected by a large sliding door. When last used Heman had the eastern side and Burma had the western. This is Heman's half. Each elephant had an indoor area and an outdoor area - Heman's is shown in this picture, Burma's was much larger. The metal door is the keeper access (although the door in picture was installed after the elephants had been moved to Western Plains Zoo). June 2009
