This was one of my husband's old photos from when he was a teenager and he doesn't remember much about the visit. Sorry! He hasn't been back there since.

The elephants themselves don't look that captive.. they look as if they were in the wild there general appearance, if you know what I mean.

I believe they had access to a huge lush paddock, so I guess that's how it's explained.

yeah might be it... their skin isn't the complete slate grey that I usually see in elephants that are kept in poor exhibits,

No worries Mhale, arent most of these Wild caught elephants anyway?

I don't actually know, I've never visited CSTWP personally.

There is a huge elephant database on the inernet im pretty sure it says at least a couple were from the wild/logging camps.

They lived in a small concrete yard(as in the photo) and it was very basic accomodation. The females at least were exercised or let out into the valley paddocks and were probably allowed to bathe in the lakes, hence their good skin condition.

There was also a bull. He was put down as he became unmanageable. Elephants were a very unsuitable species for a relatively small wildlife park like Cricket to take on...

Thank you for the info, does anyone have a photo of the bull?
