    Bump

Does anyone have new information? It was initially planned to be finished a long time ago, but there were a lot of local problems. Then a series of articles in 2014/15 like the one in vogelcommando's post, some including photos of construction work showing that the work had started. Then nothing?! I realize that Brazil's economic situation has changed since the first plans of the aquarium were published in 2011, but I've been unable to find anything new. Did the plans stop or are they still moving ahead? Any update would be appreciated.

Just found this, but still only from February 2015:

    http://g1.globo.com/ceara/noticia/2...io-do-ceara-sao-paralisadas-em-fortaleza.html

It basically says that the earlier problems continue and there has been a stop of construction, but (as of early 2015) 65% of the concrete works and 18% of the installations were finished. Expected opening summer 2017, but I guess that'll be delayed. The entire aquarium should hold a total of 15 million liters.

More up-to-date information on progress would still be appreciated.

Thanks. Not much info available but it sounds like it still is moving slowly forward. I may, of course, be overoptimistic....
