No matter if there are problems with the declining population in captivity, this animal is such an impressing beauty.

Red-shanked Doucs are in my opinion one of the most beautiful primates. There's just something about their striking coloration and their deep, black eyes . Unfortunately, it's been years since I've seen one in person.

^i believe the only ones in the USA are at Philadelphia? Hopefully it won't be long before more zoo's begin trying to import them, and cologne can built up a good breeding group, possibly include some new blood.

Yes, Philadelphia is currently the only holder of the species in the United States, however all of my experiences with Red-shanked Doucs were while they were kept at the Cincinnati Zoo ;)
