Nice animals ! I thought they were quite difficult to keep because they only eat surtain ant-species. Do you know what they are getting to eat at Alice Spring ?

      Ants.

You are quite correct, Devils are notoriously difficult to keep. There are only a few species of ants they like, and those species are found in Central Australia. In other parts of Australia people (and zoos) have tried to keep them and while they may eat a few of the ants on offer, they don't thrive and usually eventually die anyway.

In Central Australia it's quite easy to feed Devils. Simply find a bit of old termite mound, drizzle some honey on it and put it outside for a little while. When it's full of ants just put it in the enclosure with the Devils. Alternatively, if you have an outdoor enclosure, pupt the honey in a small bowl on the ground and wait until the ants have gathered, then put your devil on the ground by the column.
