Gita was moved to Santillana Zoo, Spain during September 2011. They let her go because the spaces in these retirement groups don't become avalible very often and at that point it was still thought that Kamlesh could potentially have another litter (whilst Gita was declared to be none breeding)

There was always some left, although I was surprised when I first saw them after the move to HWP was advertised, as I thought all had moved too. I think it is a male and female pair, possibly still with one offspring, but I have only seen the male recently.

According to a post on the Facebook page, the Northern Luzon Cloud Rats in the Magic Forest have been replaced with *drumroll* Southern Luzon Cloud Rats. Don't know if the Northern rats are offshow or have moved to another collection, though.

A caveat; the following is complete speculation - they could be intending the aviary to be converted for the forthcoming female Koalas.

I am visiting here next weekend whilst up in Scotland, any advice/tips? I've had a good look at the map and species list and made a list of the ones I haven't seen yet.

Is there any good time to see the Koalas active?

Although there's no guarantee as they are pretty lazy but maybe around the time they get fed - I don't know the exact time other than it's most likely very early so if you're there at 9 when the zoo opens maybe go straight there (they are about halfway up the hill on the right hand side behind the magic forest area). Also if the weather is okay and it's warm enough one of them may be outside so may be more active/visible there?

Another thing I'd recommend is the Living Links building. The squirrel monkeys and brown capuchins are usually pretty active and fun to watch but many people miss the building because it's accessed from the end of the magic forest and easy to miss.

If you also try to catch as many of the animal talks as you can, some of the talks also coincide with feeds so the animals may be more active then (check out the website for times etc).

Another thing to try is to go to the top of the hill early on and work your way down, easier on the legs!

Another Panda tip, check back later in the day, we had our booked tickets for 11am but managed to get another two at about 4 as a few people hadn't turned up
