Sad to say the new baby King Colobus has dies.Mum was not a good one as the others kept grabbing the baby and treating it like a toy .Mum just wasnt intrested in her baby and would leave it abandoned .It was heartbreaking to hear the baby screaming as it was in distress it was finally pulled and hand reared for three days before passing on.

In Colobus its natural for other females in a group to act as 'aunties' and sometimes hold and carry another female's offspring. Obviously something else was wrong in this case though though as the baby could only feed from the mother(unless another female had young at the same time) and screaming certainly indicates distress. Very sad.
