I have seen him a number of times when he was kept at Chester but unfortunately I can't find any photos of him. I know he moved to Le Pal Animal Parc in France a couple of years ago.

This link has some info on him and his new home. Apparently he's 26 and was born at Copenhagen Zoo. I think any of the Chester regulars such as Hornbill or Bongorob should have a photo of him somewhere for you.

Chang isn't huge, just average sized, but he's probably still growing even now.
He didn't have any tusks at all. As someone else said, he was born at Copenhagen. Bred with five females while at Chester, including two sent from Twycross on loan, and with his own daughter 'Sithami', then aged about five!

Chang is big. The biggest elephant crate was only just big enough to hold him. I believe that he's mated with two of Le Pal's females.

He mated with Birma, but She may not have been cycling.

okay, I'll retract my statement.:( I haven't seen Chang for a number of years so's he's probably grown a lot more.

I believe the last calf born at Chester was definately sired by Upali?

Raman, born November 12, 2006 is the last calf born in Chester. His father is Upali, and his mother is Thi Ha Way.

The last offspring of Chang was Tunga, born on October 10, 2004 (mother: Jangolie)

Which do you regard as the father of Sithami's calf 'Sundara'- Chang or Upali?

I don't know. I'd like to think it's Upali, But the Chester zoo guide says that Chang is the father.
