The Drill and Aye Aye have not moved out as yet. The old Gorilla house has macaques who are in quarantine at the moment. Also the old Macaque exhibit now has European Otters now who are also in quarantine. So don't expect any moves to be happening soon.

Very interesting, are they quarantining the otters for the HWP?
Hopefully the langur baby is a female.

Will they source a new aye-aye male from Jersey soon (there is a big surplus of them at Jersey Zoo)?

I think she was African.... She wouldn't come out of her house.

Is ISIS upt to date here, as it shows only 2.3 at Jersey?
Perhaps WMSP could be persuaded to part with their lone male.

According to this website:
Database of the Asian Elephants at the Zoological Gardens

Edinburgh had two Asian Elephants:

A female, Dumbo, arrived in 1957...died 1960
And another female, Sally, arrived 1939...died 1980

Re: aye-ayes. I just looked in on ISIS and indeed they do only have 2.3 individuals now. I was perhaps living in the past when they had 5.4 or even a more skewed sex ratio of aye-ayes.

I seems Jersey Zoo has redistributed its aye aye group between the 7 establishments keeping aye-ayes (nr. 7: Berlin Zoo). I just hope that with these rather recent movements breeding of ayes-ayes will be promoted. At this moment in time only Bristol Zoo is breeding them regularly, and not even Jersey itself is having any success.

I agree that perhaps West Midlands should sent its male to Edinburgh for breeding. One question in this respect: does anyone know anything about the current relatedness of ayes-ayes in Europe?

Okapikpr, what is the status of the SSP aye-aye population. Duke University is the prime breeding facility, but SF Zoo has had a 2008 successful - if unexpected - birth.

Does Duke have several breeding pairs?
What is the basis of their success (where does this differ from the European zoos)?
What is the history and status of the Denver aye aye pair?

but then again with ISIS, pinch of sat anyone?
I meant to add that 2.0 Bawean deer have also arrived, i had hoped to see a female or two arrive from Poznan, but maybe they are going to get some females in the future.
Poznan and Edinburgh are the only zoos in Europe keeping these deer.
