I've just been seeing on the news over here in NZ about severe flooding over in the UK. Are any of the zoos being affected by this, or is it too localised?

Not heard anything Childonias. It seems to have severely affected transport though, it was chaos on the railways yesterday. In Stoke where I live I am quite high up, so I'm safe. Yorkshire has had it pretty bad.

We have yes, Bongorob! Unfortunately not so bad that work was cancelled- but I can live in hope. Plenty of streets were completely under water, a foot or so.

We don't really have that many zoos round here though and I've not heard of any flooding.

It was all in the Midlands and Northern England. Southern England hasn't been affected at all.

floods? ill give you floods. go to ABC Newcastle » Home and see what washed up on my local beach last week in a flood. 9 people dead, 150000 homes without power, thousands of cars destroyed, whole parts of the city evacuated and widespread hail, wond and rain damage, now thats what i call a flood. lol were still recovering from it now with a damage bill likely to exceed one billion dollars and a 250 metre long coal ship stuck on the beach next to the city of newcastle.
and ARAZPA member Blackbutt reserve, a fauna park specialising in native animals (and of really high standard too) has been ****** up by the massive storm too. Previously a huge boardwalk rose up over rocky outcrops inhabited by wallabies and kangaroos, now dead or escaped before entering a big, waterfall aviary where brids flew freely amongst eucaplypts where the koalas browsed. During the storm the surrounding trees demolished the aviaries, liberating the birds. Im unsure about if the wombats, in their amazing underground enclosure survived, but i imagine the other aviaries and quolls, also all relatively new exhibits and viewed through glass from the boardwalk, are all destroyed completely.
