Southport Zoo (Closed) Former Zoo residents

    Former Zoo residents Southport Zoo

    Mandrill Dume (♂) moved to Colchester Zoo in 2004

    Chimp brothers Jackie (or Jacky) and Jason were moved to the Wales Ape & Monkey Sanctuary, Formerly Cefn-yr-Erw Primate Sanctuary.
    Jacky was born at Southport 28th of March 1977 to parents Robin and Jane, and hand reared by Doug and Carol.
    Jason was born on the 2nd of May 1983 and parent-reared.

    I'm presuming this is currently Colchester's largest/oldest male. Do you(or anyone) know if he's descended from Southport's original(homebred) group, or from their second group which comprised animals imported from the USA?
