I have just found out that Yorkshire Dales Falconry has a Lappet-faced Vulture! They also have Hooded and Ruppell's Griffons. They also free fly the Lappet ! How cool is that! Can't wait to visit. They say it is the only Lappet in the UK, but ISIS lists the International Centre for Birds of Prey in Herefordshire as having a single female.
Well it was the only one in the country on public display when the leaflet was printed, although the I.C.B of P isn`t open to the public yet this bird was in South Carolina when the leaflet was printed, there also may be a couple in private hands as well.
Sounds like another case of not enough research before printing the leaflet, that and there are alot of strange things in private hands that we don`t know about unless you know the right people.
