Longleat Update Please

Hello All
I have just joined this forum I wonder if anybody could provide an update/information on the following animals at Longleat Please. Kadu the tiger Charlie and Mafui the male lions Thanks |

I asked the same questions, but none were replied to, so i presume nobody knows about Kadu or Mafui really? I presume Kadu must be in her 20's now, but my bets are on that she has died of old age. As for Mafui, i presume he has died as well, but I remember watching Animal Park, and he definately had a few females with him, even when Kabir came to replace him (Kabir got Mafui's daughters, Luna and Yendi)
I know Charlie is a castrated male, but he is a fine looking specimen and in my opinion should have been bred from. I presume that he is probably related to all of the females in the pride. Age wise, I'm unsure, I would think he was offspring of the last breeding male in that pride 'Ronnie' who left to retire at Newquay Zoo in 2000? But again, not completely sure? |

when i went there i herd mafui was with all the old lions and kabir got all the young ones

Kadu died a while ago when she was 21 I think. Poor Shandy died when she was 19 of a tumor. She was my fav animal in the whole park.
 I'm trying and failing to find a picture of her.

Do Longleat have plans to bring in a male Amur tiger for the 3 females, or are the females classes as surplus breeding stock?

yes thats right it went chandi - sonar - kadu Actually it went Chandi-Kadu-Sonar because I've seen both the programs where Chandi and Kadu died and in the one with Kadu Sonar was still very much alive. I was crying when I found out that they had died. PS I dont know how to quote |

im sure it wasnt because ive seen one of the recent ephisodes and it is just kadu sitting on her own :S
