New species at Rare Species Conservation Centre?
Old 03-12-2008

I was browsing the website for the RSCC at Sandwich, Kent and noticed some very interesting animals on their species list - Black Footed Cats, Sambirano Bamboo Lemurs and Smooth Coated Otters! Pumas, Jaguarundis and Pallas Cats are listed as well, I think these may all be new additions to the collection. Does anyone know if all these animals have arrived yet? I would assume so as there's a seperate list for species which are 'coming soon'!

Looks like the most exciting small zoo in the UK is getting even more exciting!!!

They had a pair of jaguarundis (in a small indoor exhibit) and a Pallas' cat (in a bare outdoor one) when I visited in the summer.

I get the impression that they do not update their ISIS records very often . Another species they supposedly have is pileated gibbon , these were not listed last time I checked ISIS . Nor was the Malayan tapir from Edinbugh which I understood was sent to them .

Pileated Gibbon is definitely present at the RSCC. The Black-footed Cat is off show.

There is a pair of Pallas Cats - and always has been.
