Species List
Old 14-09-2008

Does anyone know a species list for Heythrop or is there one available online?

From the photos, I can gather that they keep:
- Polar Bear
- American (?) Black Bear
- Pygmy Hippo
- African Leopard
- African Crowned crane
- Addax
- Giraffe
- Ostrich
- Zebra
- Raccoon
- Meerkat
- Red Fox
- Ring-tail lemur
- humboldt's penguin
- Skunk

Is there anymore?

Mandrills- 2.1 originally plus several more obtained from Southport when it closed. I'd be interested to know exactly how many they have now + sex ratio etc if anyone is doing the visit- plus a photo or two of the enclosure(s)?

I think the black bear is Asian.
There are no Ostritches, there are still striped Hyena, and I think there are 2.4 Mandrills.
Who is going to the open day?

Don't they have a liger? I'm sure I've seen a program where some animals were taken here from another zoo and while the keepers were there they looked at the ligers, this may be another place like this though. Anyone know what I'm thinking of?
