    Hello Everyone,

I have decided to undertake a public perception of foxes survey for my 3rd year dissertation, the questionnaire asks a few questions concerning the impacts from foxes in urban areas (does the person think there are more positive than negatives) and other useful questions.

Id be very greatful if you could spread the below survey link to any friends or family as i need as many varied results as possible. You are more than welcome to fill one in also.

Here is the survery Link : Fox Survey 2010-2011

    Many Thanks

Also if you have anything more to add about your views on foxes, please let me know them below! :)

    Emile,

    A couple of questions.
    I don't know what
says about your age and education level (I'm not in the UK). University? Younger?

    You list
. In the US that would suggest that foxes do something to chickens on my turf. Is that what it means to you? We would write "fouling"

The questions are a bit geared to bring out concerns about foxes rather than any perceived appreciation. So when I got to question #7 I was a bit surprised you doubted my opposition to the animals.

I know as a foreign devil, my questions may be ignorant. Or else they'll be helpful perhaps

3rd year is (usually) the final year of an undergraduate degree at University (a BSc or BA) in England and Wales.

And we'd say 'fouling' as well. ;)

Can't do the survey right now but will try to run it later on. :)

    Your survey is meaningless.

You do not give enough answer options.

I thought the survey needed more options. I don't have a issue with urban foxes but I didn't feel the scope of the survey let me express that. For example, the question on how I would react to urban foxes in my garden gives no option to watch them and enjoy their presence.

I also feel I live in an urban area but town or city doesn't quite cover the type of area I live in.

    Hope my comments help.

Yes, sorry Emile but I couldn't answer the survey as my answers for 4 and 5 aren't there!

    They would be:

    4. The rare chance to watch a wild native mammal

    5. As mazfc says, I'd watch and enjoy (and have done on several occasions)

The survey does seem to assume that foxes are either negative or neutral - there's no option there if you like urban foxes!

Sorry Emile, I did try but the questions just don't reflect reality. Have foxes increased in urban areas? Well, since when? Last year? (yes) Ten years ago? (no). I gave up at that point. But especially, what do I do when I see foxes in my garden, or indeed running along the road outside? Well, I just look at them with interest!

I too had problems answering the survey for the same reasons.

I regularly get foxes in my small London garden; I like to see them and always enjoy watching them.

One particularly bold individual frequently sits on my window-ledge and appears to watch me through the window.
