They could have resumed work by then veeboy31. And you could be lucky enough and see the 4 new Hunting dogs out in the full enclosure by then. I would be surprised if they needed many more days acclimatization than that, and they do like to get a new exhibit for busy times such as school half term( like it is this week in South Yorkshire). Maybe they will just let them into the woodland area for a start as that is a lot more secluded and easier to get away from the public if they feel uncomfortable.:)

According to a keeper today, the four females arrived from Holland.

Been today, lots of construction work going on in the park. They have finally started work on enclosure 2! Three guys were digging and they were bringing diggers on site near by. They have also started clearing huge area behind the giraffe house!

Was the construction work bothering Victor?

And are the Hunting dogs given access to the main enclosure yet,or still in the small run attached to their indoor sleeping hut? :)

Not bothering victor at all. The dogs were out but only in the woodland enclosure. They didn't have access to the area with the pond

    (My quote from Tuesday above)
    . I must be telepathetic!!;)

I have a feeling they may stay in woodland section for a good few days to let the grass get established a bit before they start digging it up.

I went to Y.W.P. yesterday for a couple of hours, and yet again was left disappointed that NO more work had been doen on enclosure no.2.
BUT they have cracked on with enclosure number 3 instead. Its well on the way with landscaping, the lake is quite small compared to the first finished one,but is still 6 metres deep. I hope they do more work on it as it looks pretty dull and featureless at the moment. Please find links to the 2 photos I have added to the gallery.:)

I still hope that the issues stopping enclosure no.2 being finished are sorted soon,as it is so close to being finished and it has the lovely raised area which will give great views and photo opportunities of the bear/bears.:D

Wonder if they will landscape enclosure 3 with streams and waterfalls etc

although looking at the photos it looks very flat and dull with just a pond in the middle????

I think it is to do with gas pipes that run under the enclosure? Not entirely sure but think it is external factors preventing progress, not anything within the zoos control .....

About time too, a companion for Victor. Lets just hope they get on ok or it will reduce the amount of bears they can have. And if he doesn't gel with Victor they will have to put him in the back of the housing block til enclosure 3 is finished.:(
Not really sure why the other zoo is calling it a "male kids group". Maybe they have misunderstood how old Victor is?

    Hy. Big Rob

In this Kids group the young males of years 20112/2013 come from Europe. Victor will remain separate.

Yep, I was told they have to wait for some kind of permission before they can proceed

They are not including Victor, they are talking about the new enclosure for kids.

It'll be great to have some young playful lads too. My only concern is it would be sad if the kids get a lovely enclosure for a few years and then have to be sent to some concrete monstrosity when they mature.
