I can't select any files for upload. And the site seems to be running much slower. (Or maybe it's just my computer).

The gallery is running much slower for me too. And I haven't been able to figure out how to upload anything. I know some of us were requesting that the gallery act more like the forum, but I really preferred it the way it was before.

Would the web browser have anything to do with gallery functionality? I use Firefox, and haven't had any problems before. I was wondering if maybe we need to use IE now?

I haven't finished testing the new gallery functionality yet - and the new upload routine is experimental.

What error message are you getting ?

There may have been some temporary high server load - I've noticed the site get quite slow at times, but it does come good again. Not a lot we can do about that in the short term.

I've made it a little easier to find where to upload photos - there's now a link on every page in the gallery (previously you had to go into one of the actual gallery pages showing photos - not just a region or country page).

I haven't quite finished with the updates to the gallery - so some things might not be 100% yet.

I'm interested to know how people are finding the new upload routine for the gallery - it should be considered experimental (it uses "Flash" to make uploading multiple large files easier) ... I'm not sure how reliable it is yet.

What do you mean ? Do you see the "Select Files" button ? What happens when you click it ?

What version of Windows / IE are you running ? Do you have "Flash" installed ? Are you using multiple monitors on your computer ?

I'm still testing the new upload routines - it should be considered experimental and I'm not yet sure how reliable it is.

When I click the "Select Files" button, it flashes blue, and then nothing happens. I have flash player installed.

What if I want to upload pics that I have from other websites? I used to upload my pics from flickr all the time, am I going to be able to do that again?

mmm - as it turns out, there is a problem with the flash uploader for people running flash v10

You can test which version of flash you have installed by visiting this Adobe page: Adobe - Flash Player

There is a new version of the uploader in BETA testing right now - I'll keep an eye on it and see how the new versions progress.

In the meantime, I'll see if I can make it a configuration option as to which version of the uploader you use.

I've changed it back to using the original upload mechanism - you can continue to use that for uploading photos from other websites.

For people who want to try the Flash uploader, you can now configure that in your control panel options: http://www.zoochat.com/profile.php?do=editoptions ... scroll right down the bottom and look for the "Photo Uploading" section. Change the option to "Use Flash uploader" to try the new Flash upload mechanism. If it doesn't work for you, change it back to the standard option.

That will be what the problem is. Once the new version which supports Flash 10 is released, I'll upload it and let you know ... you can try again.

In the meantime, as per my previous post I've reverted back to the standard upload routines and you can choose the Flash uploader as an option.
