After posting over 1,000 times here at ZooBeat I've finally gotten around to uploading many, many photos from an assortment of zoos and aquariums.

I spent all day uploading almost 400 photos! I went from zero to almost 400 in the past 24 hours, and there are many shots from zoos that weren't represented here at ZooBeat. Canadian, U.S. and Australian zoos and aquariums have all been added, including the infamous "Platypusary" at Healesville Sanctuary near Melbourne.

I am obsessed with the gallery! I have only visited a few zoos in my life time, and unfortunately, all but the Calgary zoo have been pretty substandard.... these pictures have me wanting to visit a few different, amazing looking facilities from around the world. I've also seen animals on there that I hadn't even heard of before.

I think I'm going to go to the Valley Zoo in the coming week to take some pictures to post, there aren't any here and I'd be interested in what people have to say about it.

I'll go on record right now to say that the sea lion "exhibit" at the Edmonton Valley Zoo is worse than any other sea lion exhibit on the planet. It is a tiny pool with three large sea lions all fighting for space...and in the summer there is a minute scrap of grass for them to sit on. Brutal.

Yeah, the sea lion exhibit is depressing. When WEM FINALLY sent away their last dolphin, I was half-hoping they'd strike up a deal to take in the Valley Zoo's sea lions, or at least give their own penguins a larger exhibit. Although I don't think any animal should be in a mall, I think they Valley Zoo sea Lions would have liked it more.
