Why don't I remember this stage and show, even if I spent almost three days at the zoo (January 2008)?
    • Chlidonias
this stage is somewhere near the manatees and sealions isn't it?
    • Zooish
Don't worry Baldur, you're not losing your memory mate :)

The old amphitheatre was being upgraded when you visited (it was all hoarded up) and the new Rainforest Fights Back show started in August 2008.

Spot on, Chlidonias. It's between the elephant exhibit and sealion/manatee exhibit.

What do they do with the peafowl in the show? Do they have them fly onto their arm?
    • Zooish
@MinxFox: An albino peafowl pair appear during the show's opening when tribal dancers take to the stage. The peacock has been conditioned to fan out his tail feathers on cue to the dancers' drumbeat. So simple and natural, but it always gets a great reaction from the audience.

Oh my gosh I have never heard of such an awesome trick like that! Maybe I can teach one of my peacocks how to do that!:)

      Orangutan? That doesn't sound safe...

European/American safety restrictions don't quite apply in Singapore Zoo, where elephant rides are offered daily and visitors can come within inches of orangutans (adult females and juvenile males).

Personally, I would feel absolutely safer standing right next one of Singapore's female orang utans than say a large horse :D

I suppose if its not an adult male then thats okay.
