Aalborg Zoo - Pampas

Part of the pampas enclosure in the South American part of Aalborg Zoo, Denmark. Here lives mara, capybara, greater rhea and giant anteater. The South American Tropical Housetto the left houses the anteaters at night, as well as other animals.

The zoo has recently bred their first giant anteater.

Yes, for the first time ever. The male and female had lived together for four years and the zoo had almost given up hopes that they would breed. Then the male was euthanised in march 2009 but apparently he had managed to do his job before then
