Am not sure, I have seen a few photos of the rhino and it looks like the horn has been filed down.

Comparing this Rhino with a photo I have of Patna it looks like Batchi to me.

I was thinking the opposite due to the hairs on the rhino's ears.

Looking at another photo of him in the gallery I think you could well be right. I have noticed that Baatchi tends to keep away from the public barrier whilst he's happy to go near it. Is this because she was parent reared and he was hand reared?

Perhaps, I have seen her by the fencing. However this is only when Patna is nearby or is play fighting with her.

It could have been filed for some veterinary reason, but perhaps more likely this rhino has developed a stereotyped habit which is common in Indian rhino in zoos- the animal stands near a fence/barrier and weaves its head back and forth for periods of time, wearing the horn down.

Sorry Stripes, looking through my photos I can confirm this is Baatschi. Patna does have longer hairs on his ears than is how in this photo, they were easy to recognise before with Patna being smaller but this meant the two had to be near each other.

I don't think that will be a problem anymore!
