Splash zone, Animal Adventure

This zone doesn't contain much, all I can think of is the stream (the colourful path on the ground) which has a mild flow of water along with some fountains on each side. Photo taken on the 20th of May 2009.

Not as big as i expected it to be but still looks decent.

The stream actually starts by the frog statue and continues off the photo for a small distance on the left. It's not too bad when full of water; you can just about see where it starts widening on the left, behind the tree fern stumps, which becomes a bit like a paddling pool (/paddling puddle?) when full of water. I think its a decent feature, just a bit odd that this is the only feature as I wouldn't bring a kid's swimsuit to the zoo unless my kid was under five (knowing about this feature.)

funny you should say that, but when Taronga zoo in sydney opened its Great Southern Oceans exhibit last year one of the main features was a simulated rock pool/beach for kids and kidults. at first i rolled my eyes, and yet now every time i go back there are families using it-and yeh they have swimmers for the kids. its a feature that zoo friends will probably respond to best because of the frequency of their visits
