Snow leopard exhibit

This used to be the polar bear exhibit, but now contains two snow leopards instead! The size is 3000 square meters which must make it one of the larger exibits of its kind. This picture only shows a part of it. Note that there is no net roof, which is great! (This is the first time I try to upload a photo here on Zoobeat, hope it works....)

I visited this particular zoo some 35-40 years ago, when it was pretty new and as far as I can remember you could walk around the whole of the polar bear enclosure - now the snow leopard enclosure. So I guess it is just a question of the zoo visitors keeping a good look out. Then they should be able to see the cats. But at the same time the cats can have some privacy - keep themselves fairly distant from noisy children etc - as opposed to those awful cat exhibits that our NUMBER ONE photografer on this web site - snowleopard - just recently showed us from, what was it? - the Henry Doorly Zoo, or something....... THOSE pictures were depressing.............. |

No, i don't have any pictures yet, and i don't like the exhibit because you can't see the animals very good. Or maybe this is just me? Henry Doorly Zoo is much worse than this, although...

I have seen the snowleopard enclouser many times even wen it was a polar bear enclouser it´s really great i think the snowleopard likes it
one of the best snowleopard enclouser in sweden |

Swedish Zoo Fan, why do you say you never see the leopards in this exbith? I see them evry time I visit the park. Just look here: Snowleopard in Kolmarden Zoo

Because of a recent discussion in the thread THE POLL: The Best Photograph at ZooChat I think I should point out that this photograph is not taken by me. It was sent to me by Kolmården Zoo because I e-mailed them about the exhibit and asked them to send me a picture of it. Should have mentioned that when I posted the picture. I has not appeared at the zoo´s web site and hopefully I have not violated any copyright laws by posting it here at the site. The e-mail to me from the zoo made no reference to copyright.

I began to understand that it was not you who had taken them as it was 35 years ago you were in the park. You might be decided that there was Kolmården picture from the start.
Is there any rule that you only can upload your own image and if it has been authorized, but not from websites, copyright or not. |
