Leipzig is one of the last german zoos with a guidebook-the new 2015 edition shows a black rhino with calf on the cover.

I bet, on the next years guide, a koala will be the"cover star".

As far as I know,Rostock,Augsburg and Stuttgart are working on new guidebooks, too.

It's a shame to hear that German Zoos are moving away from publishing guidebooks. I have several from the 1990's and 2000's. My oldest is the English Guide published by Zoo Frankfurt in circa 1992. I just spent a week in Texas and was pleasantly surprised that both the Fort Worth Zoo and the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch offered Guidebooks. They were each more in the style of a news-rack magazine then a small "pocket" guidebook...but I picked one of each up to add to my collection.

Hamerton Zoological Park - 2015 guide is also available. Same style as before with pale brown background but with an image of a Bengal Tiger instead of the previous animal heads

Think that Chester "guidebook" may be a proof-of-concept for a guidebook which was never produced, as the image on the front cover is from a 2012 photography exhibit, there has not been a guidebook since 2008, and the zoo stated as recently as earlier this year that they deemed there to be no demand for a new guidebook.

I'd love to be wrong though.

The Bristol guidebook is indeed pretty expensive...... and having looked at it before deciding not to purchase it, not worth the money either.

(Chester) Sadly not - those images are from the 2008 guide. Last we heard there were no plans to do another guide for the foreseeable future

Quick update that I've now joined the admin team for the Bartlett Society's UK guidebook list. Its undergone an update over the past week (including some 2015 guides) and is now much more accurate. If anyone has guides that they need adding then please add them to this thread or PM one of us :)

I'm glad to see the Guidebook list is updated now.

I have a correction for West Midlands Safaripark, one guide is still missing:

    2010-Indian Rhino
    2011-Humboldt penguins
    2012-Merkats
    2013-lioness
    2014-cheetah

I also have a Dublin Guidebook, probably 2009, with an asian elephan calf on the cover.

New 2015 Guidebook for Rostock Zoo, A6 Size, 164 Pages, Polarbear cub on cover.Price:9,95 Euro !

And some zoos wonder why people don't buy guidebooks anymore-Augsburg has an excellent guidebook and offers it for 2,50-and they sell them!

Both Banham and Jersey have recently published wholly new guides - with, respectively, a tiger and a gorilla on the front cover. The Jersey one in particular is very nicely done.

I will have several copies of each at the Stuttgart meeting, in September!

Both now added to the Bartlett list :)

Other recent additions to the list include a 2015 guide for YWP (Polar Bear cover) and Whipsnade (Giraffe cover)

Does anyone know what is on the cover of London's current guide??

The Humboldt penguin guide did not come out until 2012!!As they were still selling off the Asian Rhino ones in 2011,They only did a short print run of the Penguins before they did the 2012 guidebook with the Meerkats on it!

Is this in addition to the recent (2014?) one with a leopard on the front cover? If so, are they both on sale at the same time?
