      I have this card (plus many others too;)) 'Ambam' was removed at one year of age and handraised after that, presumably because 'Shamba' wasn't doing very good job. He now lives in the larger/older group of bachelors at Port Lympne- I reckon he is their largest male.

      It is an amazing shot- I saw it posted somewhere else too. I think Ambam is the one on the left here.

      It makes you realise these males don't always live in total harmony(it is certainly NOT natural for silverbacks to live together like this.) A few years back one of the males in this group had his mouth badly ripped by another male- the notice they posted at the time indicated it was Ambam who did it. Yet on a normal daily basis most of them seem to get along fine and trouble must be fairly rare.
