Together with small-clawed otters, now moved to a smaller exhibit nearby

There is a video on Youtube showing this exhibit (I think) and a fight between the langurs and otters, where the langurs were throwing sticks at the otters and the otters teamed up and dragged one into the water and drowned it.ure if it is still on Youtube tho.

Its still there. Quite shocking and disturbing. Even though I know these otters can be vicious this is probably the first instance of otters drowning a monkey.

It took me only a few second to find the video by using the keywords 'monkey' (was smart enough to realise that someone posting such videos on YouTube would be too dumb to know what a langur is) and 'otter' as well as 'bronx zoo'.

Indeed quite disturbing. But what's even more disturbing is the comments, many of which clearly come from people with lower IQ than the animals they're looking at.

quote to show the youtube video link Zooish posted (for those for whom it doesn't show up in the initial post) :)

@Baldur Exactly! In the comments they claim that they're "team otter" when the otter killed one of the world rarest primates, truly sad...

This exhibit seems a bit small. Now the otters have gone, I would like to see them expand the land area.
    • StoppableSan
@Cat-Man There's only two langurs now - and it was meant to replicate a mangrove forest for proboscis monkeys, which were able to swim in the water moat.
    • Cat-Man
Thanks @StoppableSan! Seems like a low number for a social species. Are there plans to repopulate, or plans in place when they die out?
