Rusty-margined guan 1983

Dalton Burgess aviary, Bristol, 27th July 1983. Scanned from a Kodachrome slide.
The label said 'White-browed guan', Penelope superciliaris. This common name is now used for Penelope jacucaca which was formerly thought to be a subspecies of P superciliaris. The true white-browed guan has similar plumage to the bird in this photo, but red legs: so I have stuck with P superciliaris. I am sure many ZooChatters know more about cracids than I do, so comments are welcome - plus correction if necessary.

Yes, definitely rusty-margined, P. superciliaris. In addition to the legs, white-browed always has a white forehead ("unibrow"), has far less distinct edging to the remiges (a feature that also separates rusty-margined from several other similar species) and lacks the rufescent crissum.
