In Cleveland in the summer the Black rhinos go swimming daily. It is one of the coolest things to watch because they get so playful in the water.

I agree with you!
Large animals look really awesome in water.
Elephants in the water are a really amazing sight.

Definitely agree with you. At Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa the mom elephant and her baby went swimming in their large pool and it was so cool. I watched them for 40 minutes as they frolicked around and played in the water.

Leipzig zoo has an amazing view of elephants swimming underwater like with seals except with elephants! Yeah I have read quite a bit about Tamani and Ellie.

I remember one day I watched Num-Oi (Melbourne Zoos youngest elephant) swimming in her large pool for about 30 minutes and many times she would completely submerge herself. It's one of my favorite Melbourne Zoo memories.

If you don't mind the heat then go on the hottest days in January. I find it is very unbusy and you can catch animals doing all sorts of things to cool down.
I've also seen Bong-Su swim in the pool to get some apples and the three tiger cubs.

Unfortunately only two now.....

Yeah umm early this year in January I went on a 39 degree day and a 37 though no luck, even though I usually spend 3 hours at the exhibit when I got there. I found it very unusual for them not to be bathing but I guess just unlucky.
