Easily the ugliest, most ill-conceived exhibit I've seen in some time. How dare they call it a "forest." What a joke.......

Is that the whole outdoor area? I know it isn't finished but It looks really small.

no its not the whole outdoor area- it only part of it and it stretches the length of the house. the area is huge compared to the old enclosure.

Now that the orangutan FOREST has been completed and there are a few photos in the ZooChat gallery I think that it is safe to say that the exhibit has become a joke. Colchester Zoo does have a few very nice habitats, but the completed orangutan enclosure is hideous.

From what I've seen in the pictures, I agree. It's almost as if ,as with Gorilla kingdom, they just thought about the outdoor area afterwards and literally just walled in a pretty small area with a second rate climbing frame.

Gorilla Kingdom is a masterpiece compared to this abomination
