      The area to the left of the photograph, where the people are gathered, was a large Koi pond.

      @Blackduiker: Do you know why they renovated the front of the zoo, removing the pond and adding the weird bridge that they used to have?

      I remember this original entrance from the opening credits of "Three's Company" in the 1970s. My parents only let me watch the opening credits because it had a giraffe in it, then it was bedtime.

      I'm glad that they have renovated the front of the zoo. The new entrance is much more attractive and user-friendly. Even the parking lot is more attractive with the native plants that break up all of the asphalt now.

      The old bridge over the park road, led to this entrance. The current entrance is actually the third renovation. I imagine they are just trying to keep up with the times.
