Dublin zoo doubled the size of their Asian Lion enclosure (haven't seen it myself yet).. Is there still 6 lions at Dublin? Kuno is still there?

Its great that they have double the size of the enclosure, however i wonder if they used the Sumatran tigers? On the zoo map (dublin zoo website) there are no longer Sumatran tigers, so it seems they have combined the two enclosures.

So, what happened to the tigers previously on exhibit?

They still have Tigers (both Amur and Sumatran). The latter were moved to a different enclosure when the lion exhibit was developed in 2011/2012

The Sumatran tigers have been moved beside the Amur tigers. This enclosure used to hold the Amur tigers when the polar bears where still at the zoo. More recently it had held artic fox, acted as extra room for the wolves and even held a tapir for a while.

I saw it a few weeks ago and its well advanced and looking good. The almost incessant rain for the last 4 months has slowed down work and pushed back the opening. I will post a few pictures later.

After a short illness, Harry, the Western lowland gorilla at Dublin Zoo, died yesterday morning 29th May.
Harry, the ‘silverback’, was the leader of Dublin Zoo’s gorilla troop. Harry was 29 years old and during his time at the Zoo he fathered 6 offspring.
Harry was a very gentle and calm gorilla and he will be greatly missed by everyone at Dublin Zoo.
The exact reason for Harry’s death is still unknown and Dublin Zoo is awaiting the final results of a postmortem.

I can assume this will be covered on The Zoo?

    Yes, that is correct

I had a very good time this week visiting the zoo. I was at gorilla rainforest looking for Harry and it wasn't till I got home that I read that he had died :(
The 2 from Stuttgart are on show on the inside and slowly being introduced to group.

The new orang-utan forest enclosure looks very good, just the final touches being added.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask

Is there any indication of its opening date? I've been hoping to arrange a visit for months!

Dublin has a quite a young group of gorillas apart from Lena of course. Mayani being 14 (I think) and the 5 others including Kafi, Kituba and Kambiri and the two new stuggart orphans all being under 7. Any ideas how long they will wait to choose a new silverback and any gueses on who it might be?
