Is it worth riding the monorail?

Yes it is, and until recently, it was necessary to ride the monorail. Before the new Amazon exhibit opened, the zoo's main trail came to a dead end and gave you two choices...wait to ride the monorail or retrace your steps for over a mile to the core of the zoo.
