What they call a Cinnamon Bear over there then. They also come in Blue 'Glacier Bears' and White 'Spirit/Ghost Bears', if I've got the terminology right. Makes one wonder whether the other black species of bear also come in different colour morphs; anyone heard of 'off-coloured' Sun, Himalayan, Sloth or Spectacled Bears? Eurasian Brown Bears of course occur in the pale 'Syrian' form; don't know of any variations in North American Browns [Grizzlies].

The photo of a 'white' grizzly isn't really- I think it just has sun- bleached fur on the head and shoulders which looks whitish- the rest of the body is normally coloured anyway.

Black, cinnamon, blue and white are the four morphs of the Black Bear. I don't know if a White/Kermode bear has ever been kept in a zoo but San Diego at one time in the 1970's had a male Glacier/Blue bear called 'Barry-Bluegenes' which was captured adult as a 'nuisance bear', but although he was kept with a mate(black) I don't know if he has any descendants.

It was the black female [from the same area so presumably carrying the blue 'factor'] that was called 'Bluegenes'. Firly sure there were no blue offspring.
