      what is that tube?
    • okapikpr
Its a feeder. The tube is place in a small hole at the end of a net and the net it wisked back and forth amogst tall grasses or in ditches. A mesh cap is then placed on the tube, as seen, to allow a small trickle of insects out of the tube for the frogs to eat. This is usually repeated about 3-4 times a day.

Some zoos breed vinegar flies (Drosophila spp.) in tubes like that and put them in the exhibit when they are hatching.
