Yes dogs!

We were very surprised to see dogs on display at Beijing Zoo - what's more, they allow human contact - you can pay to take a dog for a walk on a leash around an enclosed part of the zoo.

I guess with many Chinese people living in small highrise apartments, they don't get the opportunity of owning dogs - so this is a good alternative.
