Nice looking exhibit, Alctraz seems to be a First Class Hotel, if I see such holes for animals...

The most insane aspect of Chinese zoos is when visitors throw food at the animals and rush the cage screaming and shouting. Total disgrace!

When it comes to Asian zoos I have no words...

Actually I have plenty - but they would be politically incorrect and this is not the right site for such discussions.

The Singapore trio of the Zoo, Night Safari and Birdpark are surely exempt from this statement?

It's amazing how proud this lion looks even though he is kept in a concrete dungeon and shouted at all day.

I guess there are a couple of exceptions. But letīs just say that in general I am sceptic (to put it very, very mildly) towards cultures that, for instance, treat animals in ways like this:

leopard cage, Angkor Zoo
