These animals are caught (at the time) in the same place, as the Kiang with Int. Studbook # 1, 2, 38, 39, 56, 57, 70, 71, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 100. The best explanation, see:

Are there any Western kiangs (Equus kiang kiang) currently in captivity ?, I know they had them ay Berlin Zoo, Munich Zoo, Karlshrue Zoo, Jardin des plantes, Artis Zoo, Ponzan Zoo and London Zoo. I know all the Kiang in captivity in europe and north america are Eastern kiang (Equus kiang holderi)

There was nowhere to take the Western Kiangs!!! In India, they are not caught, high mountains prevent!
