Amazing news VC, and they don't look like the tiny micro frogs that keep turning up as new species, they look a good size, and have been known about for a while with out any one realising they give birth to live tadpoles. I wonder if they are indeed fertilized internally or if some females can reproduce with out males, After all the male must have some way of getting his sperm into the female.

The Beeb's page about this discovery is at BBC News - New fanged frog 'gives birth to tadpoles' and includes a link to the original paper in Plos One.
It strikes me that this species would be an interesting exhibit for any zoo currently constructing a large exhibit devoted to the fauna of the East Indies ;)
