The amount of plastic debris in our oceans is growing. This is a wildlife conservation issue relevant to Zoochat because it imperils ecosystems and species that many of us enjoy seeing in aquariums and zoos, and is something that we have control over with consumer choice.

Yet another application of nanotechnology. See a previously posted article on nano subs being used to clean oil spills.

For many of our environmental problems, solutions already exist. The trick is to get those who have the solutions to donate them freely to conservationists.

More fun news from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch: the amount of plastic in the Pacific Ocean is 100 times greater now than it was 40 years ago. The good news: we can stop dumping plastics in the ocean if we want to.
