Tenrecs are wonderful animals that are almost completely obscure to the world at large. They have many amazing conservation and natural history tales to tell. Fellow Zoochatter Stuart Short and I have written a series of articles on the amazing tenrecs of Madagascar and the African rain forests. These stories are on Mongabay.com and are free for all. Please share them with any kids (of all ages) and educators that you think may find them of interest. Hopefully there are more stories to come. Thanks to Tim May, Dassie rat, and Rick from Durrell in Jersey for help with the background references and to everyone who talks about tenrecs here and got me interested in the group. I read them all. This is really good stuff - well-researched and well-written. Congrats! Glad to see that you made it past the third reviewer. It's also great to see that you are harnessing the vast knowledge and experience of Zoochat members. What's your next project?
Thanks very much for your kind comments, nanoboy. There are more tenrec articles coming hopefully. I have an article about Serengeti giraffe research in review at a kid's magazine , and would love to write another story on elephants.
The art of writing complex details in simple, readable language is a rare one. You have it in abundance, David!
Thanks for the lovely comments, I have to say David is a great person to work with let's hope that Tenrecs become acknowledged for the amazing animals they are !
