white-handed gibbon island
all the gibbons at the Melaka Zoo are kept on heavily-planted islands like this. Some of the other primates are as well (eg spider monkeys), but conversely other species are in really ugly wire cages. The pig-tailed macaques have just an almost-bare patch of grass surrounded by electric wires. To get an idea of scale, the white rectangle at the bottom is the sunlight reflecting off the sign and if you look directly upwards from the sign, right up near the top you can see a gibbon in the tree.
