did this have any sort of roof over it??? doesnt look secure enough for lions!

No roof I'm afraid, but the fence is high and I don't think the space is enough for them to run and jump, but I guess big cats always find a way to surprise you when you least expect them to!

Do the lions have a home during the off-season that is larger than their travelling quarters? Many circuses have a facility where they keep their animals when they are not forced to be touring cities across the nation, but others maintain their exotic creatures in subpar enclosures that any big cat could walk across in less than 10 seconds.;)

I think they have off-season quarters somewhere in NSW (where they have another circus, also with big cats, as was pointed out in a different thread).

I was surprised to see that the lions actually had an outdoor enclosure. This was the first circus I saw with big cats, so my image of their circus keeping has been influenced a lot by old images of wagons and such. I agree, not big, but better than what lions have had to go through in the hundreds of years before that.

Looks a bit dangerous without a roof!
