1.0 Giant Anteater arrived from Parken zoo, Sweden this week.

P.S I couldn't find a topic for this zoo neither in France or Central & South America forum. It´s a France island and a part of EU, but Martinique is located in West Indies. :)

A great news I learned from la Licorne, the official french zoos magazine published every year. Zoo de Martinique welcome in 2017 from Zoo de Guyane, its sister park, two disabled red face black spider monkeys (one is blind and the other has hip problem) which were rescued in French Guiana in 2008 (born wild). The two males were put with two females and last september a baby was born. This birth is very important has the father (the one with hip problem) is not related to the other spider monkeys in the eep so an important new bloodline

    Great news!

I know that the zoo in Paramaribo, Sranan - Republic Suriname also has a group of red-faced spider monkeys. Unsure as to their origins, but I had the impression these were wildcaught animals. Cannot tell though if they have bred at all.
